J. D. Lunt is a cartoonist and editor. Before becoming a cartoonist, he worked in mental health, youth work, ministry, sign painting, and dishwashing. He was also a highlight and repairs painter for Thomas Kincade, but don't hold that against him.
J. D. is drawn to cartooning because it is such an accessible art form. He leverages this accessibility to make a wide variety of topics more clear and relatable: from mental health and Veterans issues, to jazz and ancient wisdom traditions.
J. D. Lunt holds a 2-year Cartooning Certificate from The Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction, Vermont. He was co-editor of, and contributor to, When I Returned, an NEA-funded comics anthology, published by The Center for Cartoon Studies in collaboration with the White River Junction V. A. Hospital. His work has been featured in and profiled on New Hampshire Public Radio, Upworthy, The Boston Globe, and Seven Days Vermont.
In the fall of 2016, J. D. Lunt was an Associate Artist at the Atlantic Center for the Arts Residency in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He currently lives in Providence, RI with his wife and her hairdresser's dog.
